Brazil´s Flag

The meanings of the colors in our flag:
Green, our forest; yellow, gold, the richness of our country; blue, our sky; white, peace among our people and the world
There are 27 stars representing each Brazilian state and one Federal District - Brazilia - the capital of Brazil.
The words Ordem e Progresso mean Order and Progress

Population and Language

Brazil has a population of 166.113,00 (2000) inhabitants.

Brazil is the only country in South America where Portuguese
is spoken.
All other South American countries speak Spanish.

Brasília - D.F. (Federal District)

Its our capital city. Brasília was planned by Lúcio Costa and Oscar Neimeyer and was inaugurated in 1960.
It was built in the form of an airplane. The city is a big touristic attraction, and it is construction, is a landmark of the modern architecture, it is a part of the Humanitary Cultural Patrimonium.
There are many kinds of city tours and all the city can be appreciate a helicopter ride.
The rural area is also visited by tourists.
Our president lives in Brasília at Itamarati Palace and all Government Buildings are located there.

Brazil´s Highest Point

The highest point of Brazil is Pico da Neblina (Mist Peak) with 3.014m of altitude. Its in the Amazon State, its placed on Tapirapecó Mountain Range and it almost makes frontier with Venezuela.

Santa Branca to São Paulo

São Paulo is the capital of our State which has the same name and it´s the biggest city in South America.
Its a place full of ups and downs, there are beautiful
places to go, museums, good restaurants, shopping malls, movie theaters, parks and many events, shows, festivals happening every moment in the city.
Theres also an International Airport called Cumbica.

Santa Branca is 90km far from São Paulo, we take less than a hour
to get there by Carvalio Pinto Highway or President Dutra Highway.

Our Currency
Real = R$

Brazil had many different currencies in the past and because of economical problems our currency has changed names so many times.
Since 1994 our currency is the Real (R$).
